Wilma A. Galindo

wgalindoNorth Hartland, Vermont – Wilma A. Galindo, 61, died after a long battle with cancer, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Veteran Administration Hospital in White River Jct., VT. She was born August 24, 1951 in Russell, NY, the daughter of Karl G. and Cecile (Caswell) White. Wilma grew up on the family farm and attended Knox High School in Russell, NY. She moved to the Tampa, Florida area with her family where she met and married her first husband. Following her divorce she entered the US Air Force where she worked as a radio communications specialist and then an air passenger specialist at the San Antonio Airport.

Wilma met her husband, Charles H. Galindo, in San Antonio and they were married on February 28, 1980 in El Paso, Texas. They moved to Vermont in 1994 looking for a change and picked White River Jct., VT from a map.

She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of White River Jct., VT. Wilma enjoyed reading, bingo, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and spending time with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of North Hartland, VT, a son, Robert J. Diaz II of Hamilton, NJ, two daughters, Pamela Marie Diaz of Buffalo, NY, and Stephanie Lynn Weaver of Westboro, MA, and her grandchildren, Rosemary Diaz, Nicholas Diaz, Emily Jagiello, Maria Jagiello,Christian Jagiello, Alanna Wagman, Alicia Pearl.

Friends may call Thursday evening, October 4th, from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., Vermont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 5th, at 10 AM at St. Denis Church in Hanover, NH. Burial will be held Tuesday, October 9 at 10:30AM in the Vermont Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT.
