Paul L. Denesha

PHILADELPHIA — A prayer service for Paul Leland Denesha, 61, Town Line Road, will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 27 at Cummings Funeral Service with the Rev. Leon E. “Toby” Schilling officiating.
Mr. Denesha died Wednesday morning at Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Syracuse, where he had been a patient since Sept. 12.
There will be no calling hours.
Mr. Denesha was owner and operator of the Jefferson House, Great Bend, and its accompanying liquor store. He worked at Harroun Lumber Corp., Watertown, for 25 years and was the manager.
Born May 10, 1947, in Gouverneur, son of Leland and Leila Castell Denesha, he grew up in Russell, graduated from Knox Memorial High School, Russell, and attended Oswego State Teachers College.
He entered the Army on Feb. 20, 1967, and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged Nov. 19, 1969.
Two marriages ended in divorce.
He and his family lived in many locales, including Arkansas, Missouri and Pennsylvania, before returning to the north country.
He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed gardening and restoring antique cars.
Surviving besides his mother, of Clayton, are his fiancee, Myong O. Littlejohn, Philadelphia; two daughters, Whitney C. Denesha, Rochester, and Darcy L. Denesha, Evans Mills; a brother and his wife, Gary L. and Mary, Clayton; an aunt, an uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His father died before him.
