Robert C. Collett

Robert C. Collett, formerly of Great Valley, passed away Friday (July 27, 2012).

He was born on Sept. 6, 1942, in Canton, N.Y., and was the eldest son of the late Carl John and Violet Agnes Tousley Collett. On Dec. 18, 1965, in Salamanca, he was married to Mary Eleanor Whitmer at the Free Methodist Church by the Rev. Thurber R. Thayer.

Mr. Collett graduated from Knox Memorial Central School in Russell. He was one of 14 in the graduating class, which was the smallest class ever in that school.

Mr. Collett was a laborer and truck driver. His passion was working with firewood.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Thomas E. (Vickie) Collett and Timothy E. (Loretta) Collett, both of Degrasse; two nieces, Stormy Collett and Darcy Collett; two nephews, Brian and Joseph Collett; three grandnieces, Carissa Rose Collett, Kadence Lily Collett and Brayley Collett; and one grandnephew, Jordan Collett.

He was predeceased by a son, John Robert, on Dec. 5, 1969; and a brother, Charles.
At the request of Mr. Collett, there will be no visitation of services at this time. Burial will take place at a later date in Green Cemetery, Great Valley.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.
