Gilbert L. Gotham, age 68, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
There are no calling hours or funeral services and arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Gilbert was born January 29, 1946 in Russell, the son of Harold and Bernice Miller Gotham. He graduated from Edwards High School in 1963. Gilbert enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR, Syracuse basketball, the NY Yankees, and attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
He was a dairy farmer for forty years and a cattle dealer.
Gilbert is survived by his children, Bradley and Terri Gotham of Gouverneur, Peggy and Matthew Isaac of Irondoquoit, Heather and Lynn Davis of Gouverneur and Scott Gotham of Gouverneur; six grandchildren, Justin, Jeffrey, Jory, and Jaelyn Gotham, Tyler and Cole Davis; a great grandson, Trevor Gotham; his siblings, Harold Jr. of Sylvia Lake, Howard of New Hampshire, Richard of Russell, Helen Henri of Syracuse, Mayford Hull of Connecticut and Rosalie Force of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Gilbert was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Winston “Sonny” Gotham; and two sisters, Madaline “Maddy” Hatch and Mary Gotham who passed away in infancy.
