Vivian (Blackmer) Raycraft

vraycraftIn accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral or calling hours for Vivian A. Raycraft, 81, of Potsdam. Vivian die on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the United Helpers Riverledge Nursing Home, Ogdensburg.  Vivian was born, September 30, 1933 in Clare, the daughter of the late, Roy D. and Mabel R. (Fountain) Blackmer. She graduated from Knox Memorial in 1952.

Vivian worked cleaning in local homes prior to becoming employed by St. Lawrence University, from which she retired on her birthday in 1995 after 30 years. Vivian was a life member of the Ex-POW’s and a member of the VFW Post 1231 Canton Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Sandstone Senior Citizen’s Club and Debra Drive Senior Club in Potsdam. Vivian enjoyed shuffleboard, knitting and crocheting; and was an avid reader. A marriage to Donald Raycraft in 1960 ended in divorce in 1979.

Vivian is survived by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Brothers, Roy and Paul Blackmer and sisters, Alice Blackmer and Agnes Taylor predecease her.
