Morris E. Spicer


Morris E. Spicer, age 64, of Watertown, but formerly of Russell, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.
Calling hours will be on Friday, December 31st from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. with Rev. William Hart officiating. Burial will follow at South Russell Cemetery.
Morris was born on October 31, 1946 in Russell, NY to Gerald and Leaphia (Hamilton) Spicer. He graduated from Knox Memorial School in Russell. He worked as a papermaker for the Newton Falls Paper Mill. He grew up in Russell, but has lived in Tupper Lake and for the past 10 years has lived in Watertown. He enjoyed going to bingo, socializing and talking, especially at Sandy’s Luncheonette in Watertown and he used to enjoy hunting.
He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” and Marc Powers of Tupper Lake and Janet and John Stanley of Ft. Lewis, WA; four sons, Frederick Spicer of Canton, Mark and Sherry Spicer of Ocean Springs, MS, Gary Spicer of Gouverneur and Christopher Spicer; three brothers, Gary and Kim Spicer of Berkley, CA, Merle Spicer of Burnsville, MN and Gene and Laurie Spicer of Sarona, WI; a sister, Maxine and Percy Law of Fine; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
