Linda M Guyette, 50, Dies From Leukemia 7/1/1995

Linda M Guyette, 50, Russell, died Wednesday evening in her home. Mrs. Guyette had been ill with leukemia.

The funeral will be at 10 am Saturday at O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton, with Rev John Trusdale, pastor at Edwards United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the North Russell Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 pm Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Hospice of St Lawrence Valley, the Russell Volunteer Fire Department or to the North Russell Cemetery Association.

Surviving are three daughters, Robin Guyette and Mrs. Richard (Bonnie) Miller, both of Russell, and Mrs. Gregory (Michelle) Blackmer, Pyrites; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Harriette) Kenny, Landers, Wyoming, and Mrs. Lewis (Charlotte) O’Shea, Russell, two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Born October 29, 1944, in Canton, daughter of Gilbert and Helena Reed Ray, she graduated from Knox Memorial Central School in 1962. While in high school, she participated in the marching band and sports activities.

She married Alton Guyette October 30, 1962, in Russell United Methodist Church with the Rev Carl Jacobs, then pastor, officiating.

The couple resided in Georgia for a short time before moving to Connecticut. After three years there, the returned to New York in 1969. The marriage ended in divorce.

Mrs. Guyette was a member of the Russell Volunteer Fire Department and participated in Russell community activities.
